Plant History

Tulaelectroprivod,CC has more than 40 years history since the moment when the enterprise put into production electric actuators. The official date of the birth of Tulaelectroprivod is November, 10 1943, but its history began with a small artel. In 1924 two handicraftsmen organized an artel "Fair work" to manufacture hardware, fasteners, door and window handles. The war separated the artel's workers from their peaceful work, the equipment was passed to other enterprises of Tula. While defending Tula, the war hospital was situated in the one two-storeyed building. The hospital was there until 1943 when the Ministry of Fuel Industry of Russia issued a decree to organize a machine-building plant at Plekhanovo on the base of the artel Metalloprom for manufacturing of peat equipment and wafer machines. In 1944-1947 the following products were manufactured – elevator chains, elevator machines, separate units for peat machines.

In 1948 the plant received the order to produce dredge-elevator machines. By the word, the length of such a machine is 19 m and weight – 25 t. In spite of the fact that there were not enough lifting mechanisms, this order was fulfilled. 22 giant machines were assembled.

1958 was the second birth of "Tulaelectroprivod" when the Tula Region government charged the plant with mastering a new type of product – an electric actuator. So, 8 thousand electric actuators of type A were manufactured in 1959. The plant was called "Electroprivod". Later 5 types of electric actuators of industrial design and 8 types of explosion-proof electric actuators were made.

With mastering new products the modernization of the plant began. Industrial buildings appeared, for example: 1956 – assembling department, 1959 – department ¹4, 1967 – other departments.

In 1988 the intensive building of new industrial edifices, houses and roads started. In this difficult time for the country (1997) 30 happy families of workers gave a house-warming parties in a new house. In 1995 the enterprise put into the batch production electric actuators of industrial design, since 2002 – explosion-proof electric actuators. The range of application of such products is very wide from ball cock to wedge valve of different diameter and pressure.

In 1996 the enterprise puts into the batch production electric actuators for part-turn valves and motor-reductors of industrial design, and in 1988 electric actuators for nuclear power stations with service term 40 years.

Nowadays Tulaeleñtroprivod, CC is the biggest enterprise in Russia to manufacture electric actuators of types Ì, À, Á, Â, Ã, Ä for valves. The plant manufactures more than 200 types of electric actuators that are designed for operation both in regions of Extreme north and the tropics and allow to introduce automation into technological processes in nuclear power engineering, oil, gas, chemical industry, everywhere where pipelines are used.

The products of the plant are delivered all over Russia, the CIS and other countries: China, Iran, Irak, India, Finland, the Czech Republic, Romania etc.

In 1994 the plant received the "International award for Commercial Merit" (Madrid, Spain), in 1995 "European International Gold Star for quality of products", in 1998 products of Tulaelectroprivod, JSC became a finalist of the All-Russian program-contest "The 100 Best Products of Russia". In 1999 actuators of industrial, explosion-proof and nuclear power industry designs were awarded golden medals and certificates. In the year of 2000 being a participant of the contest "The All-Russian label (the Third Millenium). The Sign of Quality of the 21st Century", the company was awarded platinum medals and a certificate.

The enterprise has had ISO-9001 TÜV Certificate (Germany) since in 1999.

At the beginning of 2003 a new team of managers under the direction of Sergey V. Kraskovsky began to manage the enterprise. The mission is to maintain and consolidate the position of the enterprise on the market of electric actuators for valves in Russia, the CIS and abroad developing and manufacturing new types of products with electronic control, with modernized new mechanic part of actuators. To solve these tasks the center of perspective engineering, which hire specialists with academic degree experienced in development of new equipment in spheres of electronics and automatic machinery.The plant was restructured. Now it is called "Tulaelectroprivod", Closed Corporation (CC). To develop new generation of products Technical Centre "Privod" was created. Graduate specialists with vast experience in development of new equipment in electronics and automatics field began to work there.
