Home \ \ Technical Session at Tulaelectroprivod, CC (27.02.2007)
It is common knowledge that reliable and failure-free operation of pipeline valves is one of the most important factors which contribute to trouble-free and no-break functioning of power-generating plants.
So the managemnt of the Territorial Generation Company No.4 (TGK-4) decided to hold the regular technical session devoted to the problems of usage of pipeline valves and electric actuators in the power-generating plants which belong to TGK-4. The session took place in the premises of Tulaelectroprivod, CC.
The members of the session included leading engineers from Tambov, Kursk, Bryansk, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Tula, Kaluga, Orel, Belgorod and Voronezh regional power-generating plants. Moreover, among the members of the session there were technical directors and design managers of such big Russian and foreign valves factories as Tyazhpromarmatura (Alexin), Penztyazhpromarmatura (Penza), Chekhovsky Zavod Electromekhanizmov (Chekhov), Ivano-Frankovsk Valves Plant, JSC (Ukraine), Armagus, JSC (Gus Khrustalny), Hoegfors (Finnland).
In his opening speech Mr. Petrov, the Maintenance Department head, mentioned the fact that total expenditures for maintenance include repairs and replacement of valves which amount to 10%. In connection with this, the major priority and strategy in TGK-4 should consist in providing for enhanced reliability and prolonged operation life of valves and their spare parts, reduced necessity of repairs and decreased repair cycle duration by means of application of advanced tecnologies, creation of valves reserves stock and involvement of subcontractors into repairs.
After that the floor was given to the members of the session representing the valves producing plants, including Tulaelectroprivod, CC, who spoke about their production.
The session ended with a walk around the plant in the course of which the visitors were shown operation of Tula electric actuators mounted on the valves, as well as new testing equipment.
